Massachusetts health insurance has recently received, the difficulties arising there now force us to ask how state funded insurance is going to fare after all.
The Washington plan was made public by the state Senate's health care chairwoman, whose ambitious universal health care plan would be theoretically bankrolled by payroll taxes. The plan would levy new taxes on businesses and workers, using the proceeds to extend major medical insurance to all Washingtonians not covered by a federal program.
But already, there are squabbles about costs, coverage, and who should pay for what.
According to the
Boston Globe, Massachusetts health insurance may be more available now, but those who aren't careful might find themselves among the ranks of the underinsured.
A 2005 Kaiser Foundation study estimates that more than 58 million Americans are underinsured and at high risk of incurring punishing medical bills.
It's hard to know what type of
major medical insurance to get, with the many types of coverage and deductibles available to the consumer. Those who are underinsured may find that in the event of an injury or accident their major medical coverage can still leave them with major bills.
