Health Insurance Reform and Small Businesses

The insurance companies are taking President Obama's efforts to reform health insurance very seriously. They have offered to make the costs of health insurance easier for almost all of us, except for those who work for small businesses.

In a recent, very comprehensive article by the Associated Press, hosted by google.com, we learn that the insurance industry is even willing to put a policy known as "risk rating" on the table. Risk rating is a policy in which the insurance agencies charge according to how old a person is, and their history of serious illnesses. This is the first time they have offered to give up risk rating.

The health insurance agencies are trying to head off the creation of a government insurance plan that would compete with them. So we understand that the health insurance companies are fearful of losing their "monopolies". They still left themselves several loopholes and outs to "charge different premiums based on...age, place of residence, family size, and benefits package."

There are ideas being put forth to reform the health care industry that could be of great benefit to us all. For those of us who want family health insurance, this could mean our money will stretch farther. The bottom line is that voices are calling for a more efficient system of records.

In one of a number of comprehensive articles, americanprogressaction.org seems to explain it in a way the layman can easily understand. The terminology used is "health information technology" or "HIT". This is a digital system for record keeping that experts say will save considerable money.

According to the article mentioned, health care is currently inefficient to the tune of 30 percent. That is both private health insurance, and Medicare "that shows 30 percent of the spending does not contribute to the improvement of health." If HIT is implemented, prices will change.

Health Care Reform and the Small Business

These are critical times for health insurance for the small business. In an article by Kaisernetwork.org, we learn that The National Small Business Association on Monday launched a Web Site called health Reform Today that, "...promotes an overhaul of the U.S. health system..."

According to the Kaiser article, "...the number of small business owners who could provide health insurance fell to 38% from 67%..." and "The cost of health care is becoming a significant barrier to many considering opening their own business..." How to reform health care has split along party lines so that "what had been a conciliatory tone...is turning more confrontational..."

Many Democrats want a public plan where the uninsured can buy into a government program. Many Republicans are "...adamantly opposed to...a public health care plan..." Republicans seem to think they can lower costs through the free market.

With the tremendous lobby money spent by health care organizations, it seems likely that any reform will be a free market approach. If so, you should look at the plans available to you here at AlliedQuotes.com

Our President is working on his budget proposal. He is concerned with the concerns of ordinary Americans about the ever increasing costs of college, the sustainability of the economy, and health care.

For those in need of individual health insurance, this might mean we'll get financial help with health insurance. Health care costs are one of the spiraling costs that are crippling our economy.

In a very comprehensive article by the Washington Post, President Obama called the budget, "an economic blueprint...where growth is not based on real estate bubbles...but a firm foundation of investments in energy, education, and health care..." President Obama hopes the bill will pass by Easter recess.

If health care reform does happen, health insurance will be more affordable. With all the different plans offered by different companies, it would help if you knew their various costs. Here at AlliedQuotes.com, you can do that right now, with but the touch of a finger!

Different health insurance companies offer different plans, with different coverage's, for different costs. Those who want individual health insurance need to shop around to get the most for their money. You can easily do that here at AlliedQuotes.com.

In a recent article by the Waterford Times, we learn there is a lot of leverage applied towards a national health insurance plan. A major part of one of these national plans is for the insurance to be financed by general taxes. The term used for this is the "single-payer" system.

Health insurance companies contribute heavily to political campaigns and have a lot of leverage. The United States is the only industrialized country without universal health care. The U.S. government spends more per person for health care than any other industrialized nation that does not have universal coverage.

Let's hope the new administration comes up with a national health insurance plan, something like the SustiNet system being touted about in Connecticut.

The Stimulus Package and Health Care

The construction industry looks to be first in line for much of the stimulus spending. Like us all, construction workers want health insurance for themselves, and their families. Unfortunately, according to a new study, the construction industry is last among major California industries that provide employee health insurance.

According to an article by Californiaprogressreport.com, construction workers are more likely to be underinsured than workers in other industries. Because construction is expected to gain more jobs from the federal stimulus package than other industries, that leaves construction workers with money, but no health insurance.

In the above mentioned article, it was said "many of the new jobs...leave working families without access to healthcare..." For those of you who are fortunate enough to land one of these jobs, you will still have to worry about health care.

Here at AlliedQuotes.com, you can see what your health insurance will cost you and your families, compare different packages, and look at different plans with their respective coverage(s).

Times are hard, and we can all benefit by saving a little cash. There are many programs out there that are designed to supplement your Medicare health insurance. Some parts of Medicare, like Part D, are not made to cover all the costs of prescription drugs for people with Medicare.

In an informative article by the Maryland Gazette, we learn that 'there are assistance programs at the federal and state level that are designed to help individuals whose income and assets are limited.'

State by state, there are different programs designed to supplement Medicare. Medicare Part C has a network of physicians that you are supposed to stick with. Medicare A and B is a different plan that has different rules.

Things are changing fast, with President Obama's Stimulus Plans coming into action. You need to shop around and see which plans offer you the coverage you need. Here at AlliedQuotes.com, you can do just that, with the touch of a finger.

There is good news for those of us who are searching for family health insurance. Last month, Congress passed the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009. This Act is aimed at children whose parents make too much money to qualify for Medicade, or Medicare, but too little for private health insurance.

According to a well done article by the Montgomery Advertiser, a family's income has to be '...about $42,000 for a family of four.' This is designed to provide health insurance for middle income kids from birth to their 19th birthday.

This will help supplement your current health insurance, or for those without insurance, will provide some health insurance for your families. If you don't have health insurance for your kids, now is a good time to start comparing prices.

Here at AlliedQuotes.com, we list different insurance programs, with different plans per program. Go ahead, shop and compare!

We all know people sometimes have Medicare and Supplemental health care coverage problems. Sometimes a stubborn doctor or paperwork problems can cost you a lot of time, effort, and grief. In an interesting and informative article by kjrh.com, we see just how much trouble you can get into between Medicare and your doctor.

In the article, a man had gall bladder surgery. His doctor informed him that he 'didn't take Medicare approved payments' while 'Medicare saying the doctor did'. Caught between the two, the man was stuck with a $1500 bill.

The doctor was found to have accepted Medicare payments in the past, and in fact 'Medicare had sent a check to the doctor this time, but the doctor said he had sent it back.' Medicare admitted they had some 'confusion in their records'. After 6 months of work and effort, Medicare finally sent a check directly to the patient, who was then able to pay off the doctor.

If you have that sort of problem with your Medicare Supplemental Health Insurance, here at AlliedQuotes.com you can shop around to see what you can get for your money.

Health care organizations in the United States are losing money. Some of them are going out of business. To be sure you have coverage for the employees working for you, it pays to recheck your small business health insurance.

Hospitals and physicians are caught between patient demands for quality care, rising health costs, fluctuating markets, and payments by insurers that do not cover all the costs incurred by treatments and drugs. In a very comprehensive article by b-eye-network.com, we learn that as many as one third of the nation's five thousand plus hospitals are losing money.

Care providers are coming up with new ways to get the money they are due. One of those ways is a new term called 'evidence-based medicine'. This means that the care you receive is determined by amount of money your health insurance will pay, not your medical condition.

Processing claims, checking diagnostic codes, and filling out insurance paperwork costs a lot of money. Administrative costs affect the operational decisions that are made concerning your care. Here at AlliedQuotes.com, you can check different costs by different insurance companies to be sure you get the most out of your money.

Health Insurance in Hard Economic Times

Health insurance for the small business may get easier, if Dr. Victor Forys has his way. One of the first employees to get laid off is the middle-aged person. Why? Because they have such high health insurance costs.

The reason middle-aged persons have such high health insurance costs is because they have pre-existing conditions. Health insurance companies are businesses, and as such they want a profit.

Dr. Victor Forys has an excellent article in which he proposes Medicare be expanded to cover people from age fifty to sixty five. In his article, Expand Medicare to Cover Older Working Adults, he informs us that Medicare can cover middle-aged people for less money.

Health costs are one of the highest expenses paid out for employees by small and medium businesses. If Medicare were to cover middle-aged Americans, this would be of great help to small and medium sized businesses.

In the mean time, get health insurance before you do develop a pre-existing condition. Take a look at the different plans available for your viewing here on AlliedQuotes.com
